Supporting nTyme

Every day the news reminds us we need to be fiscally responsible. Budgets are cut, costs continue to rise and everyone is stretched thin. Music and the arts education is not immune, as we often see these programs are cut first, and in some instances dropped entirely. These programs face an ongoing need to generate funds to support their existing work, as well as their growth and development. It would be wonderful to have an unlimited funding source through which facilities, equipment, supplies, clinicians, music, instruments, etc., can be provided. However, we know that is not realistic. As such, nTyme operates entirely through fundraisers and the generosity of our sponsors, donors and volunteers.

nTyme cannot exist without your financial support, and it is that support that allows the youth of our community to continue their musical journey through the programs we offer. Whatever the type and level of support, whether a monetary, material or capital contribution, there are many ways you can support us and the music education of our youth. Because nTyme is a recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, your contribution may be tax deductible*. In addition, it is a great way for you or your company to gain direct exposure to our community.

However, that is not enough. We encourage student and family involvement with our fundraising activities, many of which involve performing and having fun while fundraising at the same time. For our annual Golf Tournament, students seek donations and sponsors. At our dine-out nights, restaurants give back a percentage of the receipts to our organization while we enjoy great food and socialize with families and friends. Our annual Garage Sale offers the students an opportunity to help fundraise while having fun and earning community service hours necessary for school.

The primary form of support is a financial donation. All contributions, whether $10, $100, $1,000, $10,000, or more, are appreciated. No contribution is too small, and no contribution is less appreciated. All contributions are recognized. Depending on the level of contribution, benefits such as nTyme merchandise, invitations to nTyme events and ad space for your business or family are also given in thanks to your generosity. If you are able to make a donation of items such as instruments, music, equipment, office supplies, etc., whether new or gently used, we will gladly accept them. The trumpet or violin collecting dust in your closet could be the first step to a young student’s musical journey! We also accept items for use in our raffles and silent auctions.

nTyme currently uses facilities of the Torrance Unified School District to hold rehearsals, meetings and other events, as well as for storage. However, with our growing student population, increasing inventory and the number of programs and performance opportunities we offer, the ability of those facilities to support our needs is quickly reaching their limits.

The transportation of instruments and equipment to performances is always a challenge for nTyme. A dedicated equipment truck or trailer would greatly simplify one of the many logistical variables we must consider when planning our events. Furthermore, the increased mobility will also help us expand the performance opportunities for your students.

With these in mind we have begun the work to obtain our own facility and an equipment truck or trailer. Our own facility gives us a place to call home. An equipment truck or trailer allows us to better support our students' in their performance events and festival tours. In all cases, these things allow us to continue to grow and support our youth on their musical journey to the fullest extent possible. To that end we have established a fund that will help us obtain our own facility. This fund will also help us properly outfit a facility as well as obtain other much needed items, such as the equipment truck or trailer.
